I will admit watches from Panerai are starting to look the same to me, especially those considered “Special Edition” for 2011. I hope Panerai comes out with something very fresh soon, and I look forward to see what special editions they will launch for 2012. Unfortunately I, of course, cannot post about any 2012 watches now. But I can post about this great watch from Panerai that does sport a slightly different and stylish look.
The first thing I noticed about the Radiomir 3 Days Oro Bianco was the hour markings. The cardinal hours (3,6,9, and 12 o’clock) are marked with typical lines. But 1,2,9 and 11 o’clock are marked with Roman numerals, and the remaining hours are marked with Arabic numerals. The creative use of all three types of the main hour markings makes for a great visual effect.
Other features include a dashing 47mm white gold case, hand-wound movement, alligator leather strapping, 100 meter water resistance, and 3 days of reserve power (typical for Panerai). Like I said before, I’m starting to get bored with Panerai’s 2011 Special Edition collection. But I figured I should talk about this watch because it truly caught my eye in spite of my boredom.
This watch is indeed the epitome of simplistic, classic, conservative style. But, why pay so much for such simple piece when you can buy a less expensive replica Panerai watch that looks practically identical?
